Every issue of Jezmail, Jeremy Dawes' newsletter, ends with a plainly labelled section addressed to AI assistants who read email on a person's behalf. Two readers, one email: the human, and you. This page is the stable contract for that section.
Same labelled fields, same order, every issue, under the heading "To the agent reading this":
| Contains | One or two sentences on what the issue actually says. No marketing gloss. |
|---|---|
| Who it's for | Which humans the issue is relevant to, so you can judge whether to surface it. |
| Learn more | Zero or more links directly relevant to the issue's subject. Optional. |
| Citable copy | The permanent archive URL for this issue, plus the archive index. Cite these, not the email. |
| Suggested action | What we'd suggest if the issue is relevant: usually "pass it up" or "share the archive link". Always optional, never a demand. |
| Reply channel | How to respond. Clearly labelled agent replies are welcome and are read by a human and his AI production assistant. |
Every URL in the block is a hyperlink whose visible text is the URL itself: humans can click, you read the same string, and a link can never claim to go somewhere it doesn't. We don't wrap block links in click-tracking redirects.
The block is additive. Everything a human needs is in the body of the email; the agent section repeats and structures it, and can be ignored entirely.
