Meet Stacey

Meet Stacey!

Stacey joined the Jezweb team in November 2020, bringing with her a strong background in business analysis, information management, web design and content creation. With a Bachelor of Information Management and a variety of studies and other qualifications behind her, she has a well-rounded, valuable skillset. Her love of both research and writing, combined with excellent attention to detail and an aptitude for incredible adaptability in her writing, make her ideally suited to her role as content creator for Jezweb and our clients.

Stacey takes the time to understand our clients’ needs, brands and target markets, and uses her research and writing skills to create a huge variety of well-researched and well-written web content that is perfectly matched to each individual client’s needs. Her ability to spot a spelling or grammatical error from a mile away also comes in very handy sometimes!

Stacey is one of the friendly voices you will hear if you call the Jezweb office, and she is always happy to help our callers with whatever they need. Though having only recently started with Jezweb, Stacey is quickly building up her knowledge of the business and is looking forward to further developing her web design and build skills utilising the tools Jezweb uses to create fantastic websites for our clients.

In her free time, Stacey likes to spend quality time with her family, read, and watch history documentaries, stand-up comedy, and a variety of YouTube channels on things like metal forging, jewellery making, science, and comedy.

Everything you need to know about metadata and why it’s important.

If you’re new to the wonderful world of websites, you may not have heard the term ‘metadata’ before. Perhaps you have heard the term and you even have a vague idea of what it means. But do you know exactly what it is, how it is used and why it is so important? If not, that’s okay – unless it’s something you’ve had cause to do a bit of reading and research on, it is entirely understandable that the ins and outs of metadata may have escaped your general knowledge.

Here, we dig a bit deeper into the nitty gritty of what metadata is, why it’s so important, how it’s used and what you can do to make it work for you.

What is Metadata?

In the most basic terms, metadata is information about information, or pieces of data that provide information about other data. It is the ‘who, what, where, when, how, which and why’ that describes where and when the data originated, how it may be categorised, how it relates to other data, and any defining characteristics it may have.

Metadata is not part of the content that a user will see when they look at a file or web page, rather it is information that is embedded within the code of the page.

Metadata can be created manually (making it more targeted and content rich) or generated automatically, be simple or more complex, specific or more generic.

You might find it helpful to think of metadata as a kind of abstract, or the Cliff notes, for a set of data – it summarises basic information about the data, referencing the data it describes and providing context. This context and additional information help the data to be more easily found and used.
