Get Your.au!
The release of the direct .au has been announced and Top Level Domain (TLD) names are on their way to Australia from March 2022. If you're unfamiliar with the concept of TLD names, take for instance, the suffix ".com.au". This is a second level domain name as the suffix essentially forms a country code for ."com" nominating the site as Australian. The introduction of the .au suffix will allow for a wider choice of available names in the trusted Australian domain, will allow users to register shorter, more memorable online names and provide names that are easier to type and display on mobile devices.
Priority allocation will be given to existing holders of domain name licenses to allow them first opportunity to register a corresponding domain in the new.au direct namespace. This means that if you already own a .com.au domain, you will be given first priority to register your new .au version.

So, what are broken links?
Have you ever clicked on a link to or on a website, only to be taken to an error page that shows the message "Error 404, page cannot be found"? If the answer is no, I'd be tremendously surprised! If you said yes, then you're with the rest of us and you've found a broken link.
Part of the reason why broken links can be so frustrating is because of expectation management. As a user, you've come across something that interests you, whether it's a blog, a shop page or a general link pointing to another page of the website your exploring. The content suggests you check something out, and provides a link to click on. You're interested enough to click and...nothing. Whether it's "404 Page Not Found" or "303 Redirection Error", you're not seeing the content you asked for and that can be disappointing. And this may dampen the user experience, or worse yet, cause you to abandon the website entirely.
As a business, we want our customers to spend as much time on our site. Not only because the longer they spend on the site, the more likely they are to make a purchase but also because Google sees the time people are spending on your site and pushes it further in those rankings, which is awesome too!
So what can you do to manage these dud links. Well, you can spend the time trawling your site with broken links, update outdated content or get in contact with Jezweb today. We can get your site primed and up to date for your visitors.

Working from Home Survival Tips from Jezweb
As Regional NSW continues into continued lockdown and stay-at-home orders have us all working from home and limiting our activities beyond the range of the front and back garden, we wanted to take some time to talk about the things that we find make lockdown and working from home a little bit easier.
1. Make Sure You Take Your Breaks
It can be easy when you're working from home to not have as many breaks as in your normal work day. Try to ensure you get up and move around as it can be easy to end up staying in the one place for an extended period. If you must stay in the one room, try doing some short intervals of stationary exercise. Remember, something is better than nothing
2. Take a Walk
In the same vein, try and make some time to go outside and get some fresh air, obviously making sure that you abide by the rules. Taking a walk outside has multiple benefits as you are getting exercise, allowing yourself exercise, a healthy change of scenery and allowing your eyes a much needed break from the screens.
3. Do Something for You
When work and home lines become blurred, it can be easy to let the job take over. And when lockdown and stay at home orders keep us inside the house much more than usual it can become even harder. Try and make some time for your hobbies and interests or, if you never had the time before, why not take the time to try something new!
4. Keep in Touch
When the likes of coffee meetups and work lunches on hold for the time being, it can become easy to feel disconnected from those we love. Video calls enabled by Skype and Teams go a long way to establishing some of that connection.
5. Try to Turn Off
As hard as it can be to do so, try to switch off from work at the end of the day. Whether it be turning off non-urgent notifications until the start of the next work day or shutting the door to your workspace (if you can) try to find a way to separate your work time and your down time.
