Let’s Go 2022!

You have undoubtedly noticed and been a part of the boom in online shopping and reliance on the web for communications, enquiries and sales over the past two years. Based on the figures from Australia Post I think it would be a safe estimate that online sales have more than doubled compared to 2019.

"Each month saw an average of 1 million additional households buying online when compared to 2019. This can be attributed to two key factors: regular shoppers buying more frequently and new shoppers entering the market for the first time." - Australia Post 2021 eCommerce Industry Report

It’s a real mix of experiences that we hear from our clients, depending on the type of service and products. A lot of change has occurred, and acceleration of existing trends is evident especially in ecommerce. For example as sourcing and supply of products became more difficult you may have seen more websites with wishlist or 'notify me when in stock' options or extra choices for express delivery with a more certain arrival date instead of just having a single shipping option. Or consider a recently revamped site like Hey Sugar, www.heysugar.com.au where having the option for customers to specify delivery date and timeslot from an available range helps to streamline the order process.
Location Flexible Workplace

Jezweb has had a mix of remote and local team members almost since its establishment, and we are continuing to with online meetings, team video chat and collaborative workspaces. I've no doubt that we will be a location flexible employer in the future and that it will become the norm for sections within a business and whole companies to provide work from home or somewhere else options.

Among our focus areas last year has been working to get all the essentials of business done well, such as handling enquiries, securing, upgrading and maintaining websites, providing fast, reliable hosting and providing technical support and advice.

Changes like the virtual phone system and 1300 number with calls answered via mobile app wherever our team are working reduced the number of missed calls and busy tones dramatically. We’ve implemented many other changes to our systems management, training, and communication to keep our team better connected and aware of what is happening and the work to be done.
Expanding Our Support Team Availability

In 2021 Wilson and Anna joined our team as full-time support managers (available by emailing help@jezweb.net. In growing and training our support team our goal is to provide 24/7 support by email with other channels added in the future.

To allow us to expand our support team and deliver faster service around the clock we have begun to roll out a more consistent user pays arrangements which will be implemented this year. Increasingly our clients are working outside of traditional business hours and we want to be available to help when they need us most.

Support requests can range from very simple to complex and we are aiming to action requests within 24hrs. Having dedicated support managers and techs working outside of standard business hours helps to reduce the response and resolution time considerably. The feedback over recent months has been very encouraging.

The December Typhoon in the Philippines and the Response of Jezweb and Our Community
In late December last year, many of our remote staff were impacted by the typhoon that moved through the area, causing significant damage and displacing many from their homes. In response, Jezweb set up a GoFundMe page and, together with generous community members who donated, succeeded in raising $630.00, which has provided valuable supplies and assistance to our team members and their families been affected by this natural disaster. We want to extend an enormous thank you to everyone who donated and supported this cause.
